Born to Tend Bar

I picked up my first shaker more than two decades ago and never put it down. What started as a way to pay the bills became a full-blown obsession โ€” the rush of a packed bar, the weight of a perfectly balanced tin, the moment a guest takes their first sip and their eyes light up.

Las Vegas has a way of raising the stakes on everything it touches, and bartending is no exception. Working on the Strip, I learned fast that the old rules still apply โ€” a clean bar, a warm smile, an encyclopedic knowledge of what's behind you โ€” but the Vegas standard demands more. It demands performance.

Flair bartending became my obsession within that obsession. The bottle spins, the free-pour flourishes, the showmanship that transforms a transaction into theater โ€” these are the skills that separate a bartender from an entertainer. In Las Vegas, you need to be both.

After years of competing, mentoring, and working some of the city's most demanding venues, I founded Academy for the Art of Bartending โ€” an Entertainment Bartending & Hospitality School built on the same curriculum that shaped my career. Three pillars: know your product inside-out, execute flawlessly behind the stick, and create an experience your guest will never forget.

Whether you've never shaken a cocktail or you're a seasoned pro chasing the next level, this program was built for you. Come with an open mind, a willingness to practice, and a hunger to grow. I'll supply everything else.

First Pour โ€” Finding the Passion

Started from scratch โ€” learning the fundamentals, memorizing recipes, and discovering that bartending is as much about people as it is about liquid. The basics are everything: a good barman can always be told by the way his bench looks.

The Flair Years

Discovering Entertainment Bartending

Caught the flair bug and never looked back. Bottle spins, multi-bottle pours, free-form flourishes โ€” developed a performance style that combined speed with showmanship. Began competing regionally and nationally.
